Kaczmarek, Gilbert Joseph
On the day of September 18th, 1937 at 5:05AM he was baptized into the Water of God’s Grace. On January 3rd, 2017 at 7:32PM he departed from this world to be with his beloved Father, Mother, and brother Norbert.
Preceded in death by father Louis, mother Janina (Jean) and brother Norbert Louis. Beloved brother of John (Rita) Kaczarek, and Carol (John) Saltz.
Further Survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Gil valued his education and received a BS in Chemistry and Biology from UW- Stevens Point where he had full academic scholarships, Certificate in Personnel Management UW –Stevens Point, 3 certificates in business management University of California Sacramento. Gil was a member of Sigma Zeta (National Honorary Science Fraternity), the American Chemical Society and American Water Works Association.
Gil developed an amperometric titration procedure for the determination of potassium permanganate and manganese dioxide, which were published and patented. Because of this procedure, he was invited to do course work at the MIT and the University of Texas-Irving.
Gil was affiliated with the Howard Avenue Purification Plant for 37 years as a Water Plant Chemist II where he was involved in developing an advance purification procedure after the cryptosporidium outbreak.
Memorial visitiation will be held at ST. MATTHIAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 9300 W. Beloit Rd, on Thursday July 6th from 10-10:45AM, with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Matthias Church deeply appreciated by the family.
