Gisela
Wilbur

Gisela Wilbur 75, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, surrounded by her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren.

She was born December 1, 1940, in Darmstadt, Germany. She survived World War II with her family. Opportunity presented itself and Gisela traveled to America, at the age of 19, to pursue the American dream and start a family.

Gisela had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking, baking, and canning. Her hands kept busy by playing piano, sewing, knitting, playing slots, doing German crossword puzzles, playing solitaire and Royal Rummy, and playing Bejeweled. The outdoors were also a passion of hers, many summers were spent in her gardens and fishing the days away. Gisela was a successful business owner. She not only had a cleaning business but also ran Double Gee Bar and Pizza for many years.

Above all, Gisela was admired by many. Her easy going, no nonsense way of life made her easy to get along with and love. She took pride in her family: a loving understanding and protective mom; an adventurous, loyal, and caring wife; and an accomplished strong and capable proprietor.

Her heart showed through in her acts of kindness, her giving nature, and her quiet Christian spirit. Gisela’s physical presence may no longer with us, but her spirit will live on through our memories.

Gisela is survived by her beloved husband Charles Wilbur. Mother of Heide Hurst, Christine (Matthew) Lucas, Monica (Scott) Wiegele, and Franz Michels. Step-mother of Leah (Nathaniel) Johnson. Grandmother of Andrew (Michelle) Wiegele, Elisha Hurst, Stephanie Dembny, Jason Wiegele, Sam (Joshua) Taylor, James Dembny, and Joshua Michels. Great-grandmother of Erynn and Liam Wiegele, and Keghan Taylor. Daughter of the late Kurt and the late Margarete Sass. Sister of the late Carlo Fleck, Maria Manthe, and Johanna Sass. Preceeded in death by her previous husbands Franz Michels and Gerhard Konarski. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, February 15, from 4 – 7 PM at the funeral home. A Memorial Service will follow at 7 PM.
