Harold R. Davitz Jr.

Harold was born on April 14, 1939 in Caledonia, the son of Harold E. and Gertrude (nee Franke) Davitz. He married Mary L. Davitz (nee Penza) on April 30, 1968. He is survived by his wife of 56 years and his four children, Jeff, Amy (late Richard) Castellion, Jodi (Greg) Bankenbush, and James (Amanda). He is further survived by his ten grandchildren, Nick (Sarah), Celeste, Brian (Cass) & Kyle Castellion, Dustin (Alyssa) & Gracie, Brandon (Abbey), Taylor & Emilie (Trever) Davitz, and Jay (Brooke) & Abby (Brian) Bankenbush and thirteen great-grandchildren as well as sister, Judith McLees and brothers-in-law, James (Linda) & Frank (Cherie) Penza, Al Horgen, & Dale Willms. Sisters-in-law Joan (Richard) Hensgen, Monica, Carol, & Pam Penza and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was employed by American Motors, Burdick Construction, & Hintz Landscaping throughout his career. He also tended bar for over forty years at Fortino’s, Schroeder’s, Siegel’s & Connie’s Country Chalet. He served his country honorably and was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed attending the Honor Flight with his daughter Amy on May 11, 2019. He was a member of the American Legion Post 494 for over 50 years where he served both Commander and Vice Commander for a number of years as well as a membership chairman. He was also a member of the VFW Post 10388. He became a bee keeper at the age of 79 and enjoyed gardening and keeping his lawn lush and weed free with his trusty John Deere.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step mothers Harriet and Edna, brothers, James and John, sisters Janis and Joyce, in laws Arnold & Mildred Penza, brothers-in-law, Ken McLees, William Schultz, Don, John, George, Dennis & Tom Penza., sisters-in-law, Joanne & Marie Penza.
In lieu of flowers memorials to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 10302 S. 27th St, Oak Creek, WI, 53154 and Generational Hospice 1028 S. Main St Suite C, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 27th, 2024 from 10:00am till time of service at Noon at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 10302 S. 27th St in Oak Creek. Burial to follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery with military honors.

    Such tragic news. Jr. and Mary were always good friends. His passing is a void to so many that enjoyed Jr. over the years. Sincere sympathy to Mary and his family..

    We are so sad and sorry to hear of Jr’s passing :'( BIG hugs and prayers to the family ♡ I will never forget all the fun memories we have ! From babysitting for many years for Amy and Jimmy and his and Mary’s years of bartending at the local taverns and Caledonia Legion. You were always cracking us up! I know there is a party going on in heaven ! This isn’t good-bye …it’s see ya later 😘 Hold us a seat ! Love ya !
