Heather Lea Thom, D.C.

Heather was born on March 31st, 1975.  She left this earthly home on February 19th, 2023.  She was born the day after Easter at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, WI to Charles and Sharon Thom of Spencer.  She graduated from Spencer High School in 1993.  She continued her education at UW-Parkside in Kenosha where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree.  Heather also began her journey into her career in Massage Therapy by attending the Wisconsin Institute of Natural Wellness.  After completing her bachelor’s degree and massage certification, she was not done with her education yet.  She attended and graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Northwestern Health Science University of Minneapolis, MN.  She recently pursued and completed her recertification for Massage Therapy.

Heather was the Spa Manager and a massage therapist at the Pfister Hotel Well Spa.  She loved that she could help heal people through her touch, her smile, her laugh, and her big heart.  She loved her co-workers, staff and clients.

Heather was so passionate about teaching others to do massage and the power of healing.  She was a Massage Therapy Instructor at the Academy of Health in West Allis, WI.  Before she moved to Milwaukee she was a Massage Therapy Program Director at the Professional Hair Design Academy and a massage therapist at The Lotus Spa in Eau Claire, WI.  Previous to that, she was massage instructor at the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.  Heather was a great educator that helped shape many massage careers.

Heather recently became the President of the Wisconsin Chapter of American Message Therapy Association.  She was just beginning this exciting journey with this organization.

Heather enjoyed having a garden.  She liked adventures like going to the Bucks games, traveling to new places, going to the beach and dog park with her dog Jrue.  She loved crafting, baking, girls weekends, concerts, art, and so much more.

Heather met the love of her life Andrew Boden on June 24, 2018.  She and Andrew had so many great adventures together.  Heather loved her life with Andrew and Jrue and the home they shared in Milwaukee.

She is lovingly survived by her partner, Andrew Boden, and her dog Jrue.  Heather is survived by her mother Sharon Thom of Spencer WI, her sister Amber Thom and niece Alani, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, co-workers, students, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father Charles Thom, grandparents Ronald and Erna Jonett, Myron and Virginia Thom, Gene and Jeanette Loomis, and her Aunt Linda Longmore.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday March 4th at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel, 139 E Kilbourn Ave, Milwaukee 53202.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Memorial service at 11:00 a.m..  A second celebration of life will be held on March 11th at Belvedere Supper Club, 203630 WI-97, Marshfield WI 54449.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m.

Heather was the kindest and most loyal person I have ever known. I remember attending the rendezvous with Heather and her family as a kid and having sleepovers in the t-pee in the back yard. Heather never forgot a birthday and always mailed a birthday card every year. I will miss her deeply. My prayers are with your family Andrew, Sharon and Amber and I encourage you ask people their stories about Heather. She was an incredible woman and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
