Helen L.
Ritter

Helen Louise Ritter, 72, born August 16, 1945 in Hillsboro, WI, passed away peacefully on February 26th, 2018. Helen graduated from Royal High School in 1963, and then moved to Milwaukee with several of her friends. She would eventually find herself working at Standard Pet Supply. Already having vision impairment, when her eyesight began to worsen, Helen left Standard after 17 years to follow other opportunities at Industries for the Blind. It was there that she met her husband Herbert (Tex) Ritter. During her time at Industries, Helen worked her way up from a Machine Operator to Vice President of Production. Helen and Herbert were married on April 20, 1985. She continued to work at Industries until she retired in 2014.

Helen was an exuberant, cup half full kind of person (preferably with coffee). She had a poignant effect on everyone she met, and she developed lifelong friendships that she held in the highest regard. She was selfless, compassionate, intelligent and had a Green Thumb that would beat out any professional gardener. But most important to her was her family. While Helen had no children of her own, she was very close with all of her nieces and nephews, and her siblings and step-siblings were of utmost importance to her.

Helen is survived by her husband Herbert, her siblings Carol Jeske, Dale Solchenberger (Cindy), Kandis Warner (Spencer), Kathy Parish (Doug), Kenny Eckelberg (Debbie), Kris Eckelberg (Brenda), Karina Noll (Kip), Kelly Eckelberg, Kathy Ritter, Linda Jacobchick, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Dorothy and Raymond Eckelberg, her sisters Brenda Miller, Wanda Solchenberger, and her brother Allen Solchenberger.

The family will be having visitation and memorial services on Sunday, March 4th, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Home (6615 W Oklahoma Ave, Milwaukee, WI). Visitation will take place from 11:00am until the service begins at 1:00pm.

While the family appreciates flowers, if you so choose, you may instead make a donation in Helen’s name to the Wisconsin BOLD Association: http://www.wisconsinbold.com
