Henry S.
Borkovitz
“Henry S. Borkovitz, 88, of Menomonee Falls, WI, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024. Hank was born in Chicago, IL on December 4, 1935 to Goldye and Leon Borkovitz. He knew he was an engineer as a youth when, under the tutelage of the guy from the hardware store, he wired the back porch for lights. He was passionate about his work as an electrical engineer, where he worked for Sola Electric, Astronautics, and several other companies for many years, often arriving at 5 a.m. before the cleaning staff. He was awarded several patents. He was a fixture at the weekly Torah and bible studies at Congregation Sinai, where he kept track of the correct place in the text, as the group veered off on tangents. He was predeceased last year by his wife of forty years, Leanne Borkovitz, and many years ago by his brother Bernie (Be-Be). He is survived by his children, Debra Borkovitz (Nancy Willbanks), Ben Borkovitz (Sarah Shapiro), and Leah Lee (Scott), and his stepdaughter Sara Kendall (Patrick), as well as by eight grandchildren: Brett, Sean, Sam, Eric, Shaelin, Rain, Gilad, and Samuel. A graveside service will be held at Waldheim Cemetery, Forest Park, IL, on Wednesday February 28 at 1 p.m.
Donations in Hank’s name may be made to Congregation Sinai.”
