Raugulis, Indulis Edward
Born January 7, 1922, in Riga, Latvia passed away April 23, 2008, with his surviving daughter, Astrid Liv Scholler left in mourning for the loss of her greatly loved parents. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Vera Raugulis, March 17, 2007. His parents were Alexander Raugulis; his mother Pauline Raugulis and brother Oskars Raugulis of Riga, Latvia. The Soviet occupation of Latvia, led to the escape to Germany, where Indulis survived concentration camps; surviving in bunkers and starvation. He met Vera in a refugee camp in Germany and they married after the war as he worked in U.S. Special service in Germany. They had a daughter, Astrid. The family immigrated to New Orleans and moved to Wisconsin. Indulis “Ed” was Chief Engineer at Harnischfeger Corporation for over 25 years; a PE and EEC and testified in lawsuits worldwide and has patents for his designs. Indulis attended the Technical Institute in Riga and MSOE and Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church; his beloved fraternity, Selonija and his Latvian Hunting and Fishing Club. He was internationally traveled and spoke many languages. His heart always remained in Latvia, his homeland, and with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation, Tuesday, WISCONSIN MEMORIAL PARK FAMILY CENTER, 12875 W. Capitol Dr. from 1-2PM with a Funeral Service at 2PM. Entombment to follow.
