(nee Szymczak)  Saturday, April 23, 2022 age 93 years.

Irene Mieritz was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin and spent most of her life in West
Allis until moving to Dodgeville Wisconsin at age 78 to be closer to her son’s family. She attended school at St. Rita’s and West Allis Central High School.  She met her husband Gilbert “Gibby” Mieritz (love of her life) while working at Weir Steel.  They raised two children Mark and Gail and have 2 granddaughters, Page and Ashton.

Irene had many lifelong friends and enjoyed reminiscing about her “Harper Valley PTA meetings” and her family’s summer vacations at Lynn’s resort in Hayward Wisconsin.

Irene was a stay at home Mom while working part time a McCallister’s pharmacy in West Allis. She always said she should have paid them for all the fun she had there. (with her very dear friends Maja and Mako McCallister)

She enjoyed ceramics, cooking and cake decorating along with Milwaukee’s favorite past times (Polka, Beer and Bullshiting)

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Gilbert) and daughter (Gail).

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her friends and caregivers at Sienna Crest in Dodgeville  will miss her sense of humor and ferocious laugh.
