James C. Pearson, at the age of 82, went home to Jesus peacefully with his loved ones by his side on June 24th, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama, after a long and valiant battle with both cancer and pneumonia.
Jim was born on May 30th, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Richard and Marie Pearson. After graduating from South Division High School, he went on to a successful career in sales, business and the mortgage industry. He had successful business ventures in Milwaukee, Denver, and Phoenix, and then retired in Hartselle, Alabama. Throughout his career, he formed many successful relationships and left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.
In 1981, he married his beloved wife, Diane, and they remained together for 41 years until the very end. Together, with their dogs, Missy and Daisy, they enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of rural Alabama. Throughout the years, they’ve been blessed by the love of many cherished canine companions.
Jim was a man of many stories and always loved to “shoot the breeze” with family members, old friends, or even the girl at the check-out counter. He loved people. It was a common occurrence whenever he would return to Milwaukee, no matter where he was, that someone would recognize him and say, “Jim Pearson!” and he’d be connected to an old friend once again.
His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he proudly and often talked about. He was determined to attend as many important family celebrations as he could and often made the long trip from Alabama to Milwaukee to celebrate important family milestones. Every summer he’d plan a trip to attend the annual Kubinek Family Picnic, often making his famous “mock chicken legs.” This family tradition has been going on for over 30 years and he rarely missed one. He never forgot a birthday or special event and called often to stay in touch with those he loved.
Some of his passions were music, movies, NASCAR, the Green Bay Packers, poker games with his family, politics, tex-mex cooking and entertaining at family events. He had a deep and abiding love for his country and proudly displayed the American flag and other patriotic memorabilia in his home. His favorite holiday events were the Memorial Day grill-outs held at his house, trips down to see the lakefront fireworks on July 3rd, and Christmas. Every celebration was an event to behold! He was always the consummate host, providing an amazing meal, and thoughtful gifts at every occasion. He loved to laugh and treasured his time with his children, grandchildren and extended family.
He will be remembered for his humor, huge heart, and generosity, which he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them, and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity and strength, and was full of love for those closest to him. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Diane, his children Lisa (John), Chris, Eric (Michelle), Susan, Mike (Samantha), his step-children Eric and Andrea (Walter), his grandchildren Rachel (Gavin), Amber, Carter, Brady, Haiden, and great-grandchild Addison, his sister Patricia Ricco, his brother Michael Pearson, brother-in-law John Ciske, sister-in-law Betsy Worrell, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dearly departed relatives include his late brother Richard Pearson (Barbara), his sister Kathy Ciske and sister-in-law Kathy Pearson, along with his parents Richard and Marie Pearson.
One of Jim’s favorite sayings at the close of a family event was “Final, Final!”
His “Final, Final” resting place is in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, and we know he is smiling down on all of us.
What a wonderful man.! We still remember Jim Pearson first coming to the Orville’s Drugstore Reunion, from Alabama, (holding up a reunion list) and stating “ what is this all about”? We then reunited him with Jim Alstadt and old high school stories started to abound. He loved the fact that he was part of the group that was exiled from Orville’s Drugstore (a badge of honor).. As the years went by we had the privilege of meeting his wonderful family and friends. also at the reunion. God Bless Jim C. Pearson and his entire family…..Tom & Mary Jane Murray
