James F.
McVey
McVey, James F.
On Sunday, February 4, 2018 the Lord reached down his hand and said come to me. Loving husband of Dorothy McVey (nee Huebner) for 61 years. He was the proud father of Todd (Laurie Lutz)McVey, Sue (Steve) Ring and Lisa (Russ) Bellford. Brother of Ileen Van De Walle. Proud grandpa of 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Jennie McVey, father and mother-in-law Fred and Margaret Huebner and great-granddaughter Elise Ring.
James was a Korean War Navy Veteran who served from 1948-1952. He married Dorothy on June 2, 1956. They made their home in Appleton for the next 21 years and it was there that their three children were born. They moved to New Berlin, WI in 1977 and lived there until retirement. Upon retirement in 1993, they moved to Hudson, FL.They returned to Wisconsin in 2017.
Jim loved his family and truly adored his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He leaves a legacy of not only speaking his faith, but living it out daily. He was always active in the churches he and Dorothy attended, not only in worship, but in many avenues of service. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed traveling with Dorothy and their friends, reading, fishing, golfing, and doing crossword puzzles. He will be greatly missed. We rejoice to know that all who follow him in faith in Jesus will see him again in the glory of the kingdom to come.
