James F. Reidy
Age 77, a beloved husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and cherished friend passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 19, 1946 to William John Sr. and Josephine Agnes Reidy who preceded him in death. Jim marred his wife, Patty, on July 26, 1986. They liked to travel to locations where they could golf and enjoy the warm weather. Jim loved playing golf, baseball, and basketball during his liftetime. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 6 years during the Vietnam war. He worked at Allis-Chalmers as a machinist, and then became a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
Along with Jim’s parents, he was also preceded in death by his older brother William Jr., his in-laws Robert and Dolores Dews, and his brother-in-law Michael Dews. He is survived by his loving wife Patty, his caring brothers Lawrence (Pam) Reidy and Kevin Reidy, his brother-in-law William Dews (Annette) who were a great help to Patty during Jim’s illness, sister-in-law Kathy (Tom) Perszyk, Richard (Kelly) Dews and many nieces and nephews. It was important to Jim to make a special acknowledgement to his nieces Taylor, Connor and Savannah who he spent a lot of time with while they were growing up. They were like daughters to him.
Jim wanted to personally thank Bill and Annette Dews, Bob Hoeft, Jan Pappalardo, Darlene and Jerry, Pat and Mario, and all of his other friends and family for their friendship and caring assistance during his illness and his lifetime. A special thanks to Aurora Hospice at Home (Cindi, Jill, Jerry) and Zilber Hospice.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Heritage Funeral Homes, 9200 S. 27th St., Oak Creek, WI 53154. In lieu of flowers, donations to Aurora Zilber Family Hospice or St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Jim would be greatly appreciated.
Jim was a great partner on our trips to Kentucky and my early years with the Razor Edge group. I enjoyed his company during the trips and his sharp card playing skills. Over all the years there was never any ill will spoken regarding Jim. Jim was missed as his health decline and could not golf with the group. I know it hurt him that he could not continue doing something he truly loved. I hope the cards and courses are up to his satisfaction in heaven. I will truly miss Jim.
