James G. “Sonny” Maiorano

James G. “Sonny” Maiorano, cherished husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on July 9, 1937, in Milwaukee, to the late Vito and Rose. Jim’s life was a testament to hard work and family values. He proudly earned his high school diploma from South Division High School and dedicated 30 years to the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, where he served in Store Manager and District Sales Manager roles.

Jim’s love for life was mirrored in his passions. He found great joy in the game of golf and delighted in friendly competitions of cribbage, sheepshead, and bridge. These moments were not merely pastimes; they were opportunities for connection and laughter, reflecting the warmth of his character.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Mary, who stood by his side through life’s ups and downs. He leaves behind a loving family, including sons Mike and Jim (Christine) Maiorano, daughters Susan (Jim) Grahek and Sandy Wolters, as well as grandchildren Tony, Nicholas, Amee Lirette, Cassandra (Chris) Everett, Rich Goodman, Andrea Grahek and Morgan (Alex) Jagiela, and great-grandchildren Josh Maiorano, Matthew Everett, Hunter Goodman, Ava Jagiela, Davin and Jayden Rauser. Jim was a dear uncle to Mark, Eric and Jody Husslein, DeNise (Jim) Gurka, Carrie (Bill) Erickson, Ray Maiorano and Shannon (Greg) Marr. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Each of them will carry forward the lessons of kindness, integrity, and love that Jim instilled in them. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, son Vincent, sisters Grace (Warren) Husslein, Carmella Maiorano, Colleen (Gene) Cook and nephew John Cook.

Friends and family are invited to honor Jim’s memory at Heritage Funeral Homes (16880 W. National Ave. New Berlin) on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 12:00 pm. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Jim will be laid to rest at a private service at Forest Hill Memorial Park at a later date.

As we reflect on the life of James Maiorano, let us remember a man who valued relationships above all. His legacy will undoubtedly live on through the love of his family and the countless lives he touched. His spirit will forever be a part of our hearts, reminding us to cherish every moment spent together.
