James Hobert Reagan (“Jim”) passed away on April 16, 2022 at age 62. Jim is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Abigail, cherished miniature schnauzer, Lena Belle, as well as his beloved brother Patrick {Sue} Reagan {Christine and Jonathan}, in-laws Nathan Greer and Hesper Wolfe {Naima}, and many more caring relatives, friends, and former coworkers. He is predeceased by his parents, Hobert and Dolores Reagan.

Jim was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 4, 1959. After graduating with his software engineering degree from MATC, Jim began his 40-year career at Northwestern Mutual (NM) corporate offices in downtown Milwaukee, retiring in 2019.

Respected and appreciated as an incredibly intelligent, dedicated employee and well-dressed sight around the NM home office, Jim could always be counted on to bring his wry sense of humor and insightfulness to any situation. His quips could make you cry with laughter. So many people surely have their own “Jim” stories to share about how he brought his unique sense of hilarity and fun into their lives.

Outside of work, Jim loved spending time with family and friends, but he also loved his “Jim Time”, tinkering in his man cave with his 3D-printer, building a robot, computer gaming, or just learning a new coding language for fun. From history and travel to art and fine wine, Jim had so many amazing interests and hobbies that there are too many to list. At the end of the day, you could find Jim soaking up the sun on his backyard patio, admiring the annuals he had planted, listening to mellow electronic music or old 70s hits, vape in hand and a smile on his face.

A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 5:30 PM at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, 509 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53203. Come share a memory of Jim and help us honor an extraordinary human being.

Jim had such an amazing mind and command of words and language. I still remember back at NM we would pick a subject or name and go head to head on thinking up as many related puns as possible. (Jim would always win!). He will be missed and remembered by all who met him.

My sympathies to all who know and loved Jim. Some of my fondest memories of Jim are from the time I spent as his traveling roommate when we traveled to Thailand and China (many years ago). I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I don’t know that I have ever met a nicer guy. His humor and smile will be missed.
