James “Jim” L. Bergeron

Passed away peacefully June 24, 2021 at the age of 84.

Beloved husband of Donna for 62 years.  Loving father of Karen and Marc.  Proud grandfather of André, Tony, Michael and Amanda.  Survived by sisters Jeanne Kopp and Reneé Harmeyer, also nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Preceded in death by his parents Leo and Vireen Bergeron and brother Thomas.

Jim was a proud Army Veteran, serving in the artillery with the 3rd Armored Division (Spearhead) during the Cold War from 1955-1958 in Germany. He attended MIT, graduating with honors in 1965 with an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering. Jim worked at Wisconsin Electric and retired after 37 years of service. He spent many happy and countless hours working on various projects at his work bench that he and his father built.  His passion for animals was endless, including the love he had for his various Yorkshire Terriers over 40 years. Jim was also very talented in pyrotechnics, much to the dismay of his neighbors and the local police department.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Seasons Hospice and St Luke’s South Shore for the care and compassion shown to Jim and his loved ones.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 10th from 9:30am-11am at ST JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH (7219 S 27th St, Franklin) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.  Private interment at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to the Wisconsin Humane Society or the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
