Passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the age of 100 years. Beloved husband of Elza nee Rumpis. Loving father of Baiba the late Steve Hartmann and Mara Blats. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives in Latvia and many friends here.

Visitation, Friday at WISCONSIN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL OF THE FLOWERS, 13235 West Capitol Drive from 10-11 AM with a Funeral Service at 11AM. Entombment to follow. Janis was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139 for 50 years and a member of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Holy Trinity Church. If so desired memorials to the Latvian Church appreciated.
