Reunited with his beloved parents, Gilbert and Mary (nee Brncick) on Monday, February 19, 2018 age 50 years. Jay was born and spent his entire life on the family farm. He worked over 30 years at Caledonia Crating and Palleting, spending the rest of his time working on the farm which he cherished and held dear to his heart. There is not a person who loved animals more than Jay and he rescued many throughout his life, the last being a baby mouse he took from a cat and then kept as a pet. Jay loved antiques and all things nostalgic. His nieces and nephews loved him dearly and he was the uncle they harassed and clung to. Loving brother of Joyce (John) Dowd, James (Laura) Koelsch, John Koelsch, Janet (Jeff) Buckner, Joanne (Brian) Chirigotis and Jill (Scott) Rewolinski. Special uncle of Jared (Rita) Dowd, Jena (Ben) Morton, Jesse and Miracle Dowd; Kevin, Matthew, Luke, Wyatt and Gilbert Koelsch; Jessica (Tony) Ibarra, Jake, Jedd, Jacklyn, Jayme and John Buckner; Travis Richardson, Brianne and Carlee Chirigotis; Tater, Bubba, Mickey, Dewey, Jack and Libby Rewolinski. Great-uncle of Jordyn LeCount, Ari Ibarra and another little one on the way. Fond nephew of Monica (the late Frank) Braun, Dorothy (John) Finger, Virginia (Larry) Gename, Carol Dulka and Donna (Mike ) Tuinstra. Further survived by canine pals, Sunny and Archie, cousins, other relatives and friends. Our family is completely devastated at his sudden loss. We will miss him.
Family and friends have planned a casual gathering in Jay’s honor at the Raymond Town Hall 2255 76th Street on Sunday, March 11 beginning at 12 Noon. Light luncheon being served at 2:00 PM. Please dress in a relaxed and casual manner, we plan to celebrate his life, share stories and remember the many ways he was such a blessing in our lives.
