Zacharias, Jean Hope.
Age 85, of Milwaukee peacefully went to the arms of Jesus on December 28th. She was born on November 29, 1926 in McNaughton to Gordon and Clara Hoffman Westbrook. She married Richard Zacharias on November 22, 1945 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2004. Dick and Jean spent the majority of their married years in Rhinelander raising their family and enjoying happy times with family and friends. They especially loved spending winters in Vero Beach, Florida after retiring. Jean was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. She loved going to Brewer games and cheering for the Packers. Jean spoke of and carried her strong faith everyday. She loved going to church. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, one great-grandchild, Stella Marie.
Jean is survived by her siblings Betty Darwin Hulce of Harshaw and Carl Westbrook of Tomahawk, her children Samuel Karen of Milwaukee, Clarice Schmidt of Watertown, Eugene Ann, Julia Mark Hein of Rhinelander, Marilyn Grzanich and Barbara Andrew Grzanich of Canton, Illinois. Jean dearly loved her 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Jean will be Saturday, December 31 from 10-11 am with Funeral services at 11:00 am at ST. JOHN’S EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 6802 West Forest Home Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorials may by made to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
