Jeanette E.I. Brockdorf
(Nee Gurske) Born in River Hills, WI. on March 26, 1931, to John and Louisa Gurske. Confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran in Glendale on April 2, 1944. She graduated from Lutheran High School Milwaukee Salutatorian in 1948. Graduated from Concordia College in River Forest, IL. in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in teaching. She married Robert E. Brockdorf on Nov. 27, 1952. She is survived by her children, Vicki Holewinski, Valerie Symons, and Vernon (Tory) Brockdorf. Grandchildren, Charles (Nancy) Frankulin, David (Jennifer) Frankulin, Troy (Paige) Brockdorf, Pierce Brockdorf, Parker Brockdorf, and Julian Brockdorf. Sister of Louella (David) Woldt. Son in law Tom Laubenstein and daughter in law Shelley Brockdorf. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Robert, children Vernette Laubenstein and Vincent Brockdorf, and her sister Loretta Gurske.
Visitation to be held on Friday October 13, 2023, at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7877 N. Port Washington Rd. Glendale, from 2-4pm with the Funeral Service at 4pm. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. John’s Lutheran School appreciated.
Jeanette taught English and Art for over 25 years, mostly at St. John’s Lutheran School. She was an avid Brewer’s fan, loved to sing, enjoyed music and art. Jeanette was a blood donor for many years. She cared for her grandchildren and after retirement she volunteered in the school resource center. She will be remembered for dominating the family sheepshead card games.

We are saddened to have read of Jeanette’s death. She touched so many lives by loving her family and as a caring talented teacher. May all your many wonderful memories be of comfort. This Bible verse recorded in John 5:28 has been of comfort to our family when experiencing a loss. It reads “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out “. May God Jehovah give strength and his love to each of you.
