Jeanette was a survivor, beating breast cancer and liver disease once her beloved “Monkey Gary” arrived home on family leave from the Army. It was what she needed to refuel her fight against death 30+ years ago. It was also he who held her hand and told her it was ok to rest now as she peacefully took her last breath.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Matthews of Oak Creek for ensuring Mom’s health and safety for the last 3 years. We extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff at Allay Hospice, who brought comfort to our mom as well as our family in her final days.
Jeanette’s Celebration of life gathering will be on Wednesday, August 7th from 10:00am to noon, with a service at noon at Heritage Funeral Homes (9200 S. 27th St. Oak Creek). Luncheon to follow.
Dear Zandi family!
I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved mom, Jeanette. I remember her fondly, mostly during my childhood, when we would gather and hang out at the Frank’s house in Germantown. She fought a long hard battle and you were blessed with many extra years with her as a result of her fight! Thank you for bringing her to a few of our family Christmas Parties, Gary, and for posting all of your funny Monkey mom moments on Facebook. It really showed just how much you loved her. May god rest her soul and give you all peace and strength during this time of mourning.
We, at Matthews Of Oak Creek, are so very sad for your loss. I’m the activity director there, and have very fun memories of Jeanette. She loved playing or active games like ring toss, balloon volleyball, beanbag toss, and bowling. We all thought she had to have been great at sports when she was younger. Whenever the other resident would play with her, their goal was just to try and beat Jeanette. She also loved her bingo! Jeanette was a wonderful part of Matthews, and we miss her very much. Our prayers are with each and everyone of you.
