Jeanne A Heinz, of Milwaukee WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, May 24th, 2019, at the age of 88.

Jeanne was born on July 27, 1930 to Joseph and Meta (Karkutt) Gleason in Milwaukee WI.   Jeanne married the love of her life, Gregory Heinz, on May 10th, 1952 in Milwaukee WI.  Together they raised a family of five children, Michael, Patti, Jerry, Mary and Chrissy.  Jeanne was a devout Catholic and a proud charter member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Many memories were made while volunteering at the parish, including teaching catechism, belonging to Christian Women, Friday Fish Fry’s, helping to organize and staff the fall festival, and along with Greg, counseling engaged couples.

In a nod to her “soda jerk” days at Woolworth’s, Jeanne made classics like root beer floats and clown cones for the neighborhood kids, her children and grandchildren. Jeanne was known for her cakes and would make them for every occasion.  Her classic cake, a four-layered cake with different colored homemade frosting for each layer and homemade chocolate frosting and jimmies on the outside, became a family treasure.

Jeanne loved her family and she loved to cook — and she loved to cook for her family.  Even after her beloved Greg passed away, she continued to make dinners once a week for her family.  She was a passionate grandma and proud parent.  Her family and friends will immensely miss her kindness, humor, wit, delicious dinners, and unconditional love and support.

Jeanne loved her apartment and the memories made with her cherished friends at Prairie Hill where she moved in 2015 after Greg died.

Beloved wife of the late Gregory J Heinz for 67 years.  Dearest mom of Mike (Sandy), Patti, Jerry (Lynne), Mary (Vince) Faber, and Chrissy (Chris) Andersen.  Proud grandma of Shannon (Chris), Ashley, Jennifer (Andrew), Emily (Oscar), Anna (Coty), and Jacob.  Sister of Irish (Pat) O’Rourke and Lillian (the late Ronnie) Pollich.  Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Meta Gleason, and siblings June (George), John, and three brothers who died in infancy.   Also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 31st from 9:30am-10:45am at St. Gregory the Great Parish, 3160 S 63rd St, Milwaukee, followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 11am.  Entombment at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
