Jerry passed away peacefully August 15, 2019 at the age of 85. Loving husband of Patricia for 62 years. Proud father of Kelly(Tony) Jurek, the late Anthony, Karol(Timothy) Redmond, Jerry Jr.(Cara) and the late Martha. Jerry cherished his grandchildren Michael(Margaux) Jurek, John Redmond, Nathan(Kristen) Redmond, Kelly(Brian) Martinson, Matthew Redmond, and Elizabeth Redmond. Also survived by his sister Beatrice(the late Robert) Schaefer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 11am-12:30pm with a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:30pm at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOMES (9200 S 27th St, Oak Creek). Entombment to follow at St Adalbert Cemetery in Milwaukee.
He retired after 39 years with Banta Corp after which he was an outside consultant for the next 10 years. Jerry was a mentor and teacher to all he knew, touching countless lives and raising independent sons and daughters. A talented wood craftsman, he leaves behind numerous heirlooms to those he loved. He will be fondly remembered for his poetic strings of “four-letter” words which were often epic enough to draw a crowd. He enjoyed working on cars, Nascar racing, creating stage scenery and was a master of his garden.
“Rest now Papa we love you.”
Pat, sorry I will be out of town on Saturday or I would have attended the service. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers through your grieving process, and that God is with you. Don’t forget you still have many friends in Sweet Adelines and we are here when you need us.
Sweet Jerry Jr.,
I am so sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Looks like he lived a long life with a wonderful family. I pray for you and your family. These are hard times, but always remember the laughs, love and support your parents had for you. Now you do this for them.
Sorry for your loss. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers
May God be a source of comfort and strength as you grieve the loss of your husband/father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Rest in peace, Jerry.
Pat and family…my sympathy to you and your family on the loss of Jerry. He was a great co-worker for many years at Banta (now RR Donnelley). He was a talented man with great ideas and skills. We still have and use some of the devices that he made while he worked here.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your husband,Pat, and Dad,Karol , he was always such a nice man to visit with and supporter of music in your lives, prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow
Our Uncle Jerry will be sadly missed. I have many wonderful memories of my uncle and godfather. We used to go visit as a family but sometimes I got to go and stay with the whole family and always had such a fun time. Our love is with all of you and I hope all your happy memories will help you thru these rough days.💙♥️
