Jesse P. Jones, Jr.

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side February 19, 2025, age 90 years. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Lang) for over 70 years. Loving father of Debra (Paul) Podraza, Linda (Scott) Koller, Doreen Cramer, Laura (Andrew) Koch, and the late Kurt Jones. Cherished grandfather of Colleen (Bobby) Jendusa, Rachael Kosloske, Sarah (Iver) Lenga, Kyle Cramer, and Elizabeth and Zachary Koch. Proud great-grandfather of Ethan (Ari), Eva, and Ellie Kosloske, Peyton, Josephine, and Sophia Lenga, and Magnolia Jendusa. Dear brother of Marlis Arts, Ingrid (Richard) Jones. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Francis Jones, siblings Delores Johnson, Jacqueline Magestro, Alice Willig, Donald Jones, and Eugene Jones; sisters-in-law Bonnie Jones and Nancy Jones; and brothers-in-law Cliff Johnson, Vincent Magestro, and Daniel Arts.

Jesse was employed by Ladish Co. where he was an exceptional tool and die maker. Throughout the years while still working full time, Jesse worked different part time jobs. One of his part time jobs was working for Sheridan Mold and Engineering. Even after he retired from Ladish with 44 years of loyal service, he continued with his part time job till the age of 82. Jesse had his own personal machine shop in the basement of his home creating parts and tools for friends and family. Jesse was also a volunteer fireman in Cudahy for 8 years.

Jesse was ecstatic when he and Joan saved up enough money to purchase land on Moccasin Lake where they built a cottage, “Jones’ Seldom Rest”. While up north, he loved fishing, deer hunting, playing sheepshead, cribbage, and sequence with Barb and Obie and bonfires with family and neighbors.

Jesse had a soft side. He enjoyed writing poetry and even had one of his poems published. Jesse loved telling jokes and funny stories. As he was telling them he would inevitably start laughing as he anticipated the punch line, which made the rest of us laugh more.

In the end, there were really two things that made Jesse the person he was – Faith and Family. He was a good and faithful servant to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was also a devoted family man. Although there were life challenges over the years, Jesse’s love for Joan never wavered throughout their 70 years together. He loved his children unconditionally and lived by example – showing them what it meant to be a good Christian. As the family expanded, Jesse found so much joy in becoming a grandfather – or “Pops” as he was often called. Becoming a great grandfather was a huge blessing for him.
Jesse will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have him as a part of their lives.
