Age 31, left this world in the company of family and friends on December 18.
She leaves behind her parents, Karen & Gary Lake, her treasured sister Allison, and other loved ones.
Jessica loved being outdoors, reading and being with family and friends. She bravely faced the challenges of Batten Disease, never allowing it to compromise her determination or her appetite for life. She will be remembered for her enduring strength and her unique sense of humor. [Upon learning her little sister would be named Allison, Jess, then 5, suggested her middle name be Wonderland.]
Jess’s family wishes to thank Celia Martinez and Sonya Green for their tender care and special friendship in the final year of her life.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10-11AM at the Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Hunger Task Force and National Public Radio are appreciated.
