Joanne Kania

Peacefully continued her journey on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, age 79 years. Preceded in death by husband Gus Gerhard, parents Eugene and Helen Kania, and her brother Gene. Grandmother of Doug (Gail) Gerhard, and Scott (Chris) Gerhard. Loving friend of Evelyn Bohlman. Also survived by other relatives and friends.

Joanne was an administrator in the Whitnall School District for 24 years, with a Master’s Degree from Marquette, and a Doctorate from Arizona State University. Her happiest times were spent fishing in the north woods of WI, and golfing in Arizona.

She will be dearly missed by her Bohlman family and other friends and family. All extend gratitude to the hospice and all caring staff who extended comfort and service to Joanne during her stay.
As an avid pet lover, memorials to the WI Humane Society appreciated. Wet-nosed and four legged friends were always at her side.

A Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30-11:45 at St. Mary’s Catholic Faith Community, 9520 W. Forest Home Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12(Noon).
