Kanter, John A.
Formerly of Oak Creek, was taken May 3, 2010 to be with his Lord in Heaven at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Viola M. nee Zimdars. He is survived by his children Eileen John Pena I, John Margaret Kanter, Linda Dan Tomczyk and Mary Joe Bova. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren Michelle, Todd Colin and Brett Williams, John, Michelle Megan, Nicole, Natalie and Mykayla Pena, Debbie, Rick Jordan and Laney Kaurala, Jenny, Joe Logan and Alex Hennen, David and Katie Pena, Vicky and Andy Lemanczyk, Jonathan Kanter, Daniel and Melissa Tomczyk and Kara Jun and Jadelin Bova. He is further survived by his friends Bram, Damon, Todd and Laura, Lorraine and Ray, Barb, John, Mary and Jenny, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and his many friends at Mt. Carmel.
John’s heart was in farming and loved working on cars. He also enjoyed listening to polkas and waltzes. He was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Franklin. He retired after 25 years from Geo. J. Meyers Mfg. Co., Cudahy. He was also employed for 27 years at West Allis Memorial Hospital in the Environmental Services Dept.
Funeral Service Friday, May 7, at 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday at the Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday from 9:30 AM until the time service 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials be given to the Building Fund at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Franklin, Christian Education at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Howell Ave. Oak Creek, or Wisconsin Lutheran Child and Family Service.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home where he had resided since February, 2005.
