Died Dec. 11, 2008, age 85 years. Loving husband of the late LaVerne nee Dettlaff. Beloved father of Karen, Martin Donna, Jim, and the late Kenneth. Best friend to his dog “Lucky”. Also survived by other relatives and friends.
John was born May 7, 1923 in Silverdale, WI. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served with a ship repair unit at Pearl Harbor until being discharged in 1945. After WW II, he joined the Iron Workers Union Local 8, served as President of KUPCO, Inc, and belonged to the Cudahy Historical Society. John was affectionately known as “The Mayor of Burrell Street”.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Cudahy Historical Society in John’s name will be gratefully accepted. Services were held.
