Thursday November 18, 2010 at age 93. Loving husband of Mary Ann for 65 years. Father of Jeanne Peter Sprangers, James Irene Scheuerell, Thomas Scheuerell, Mark Scheuerell, Judy John Klemmer and Edward Scheuerell. Grandfather of Paul Rachel and Eric Lisa Sprangers, Jeff Kristin, Joe and Jim Klemmer. Great-grandfather of Wayne, Christian, Julia, Leah and Hayden. Brother of Marie Schultz, Rev. Charles Scheuerell and Joan Jack Eisch. Also survived by many relatives and friends.

Visitation Monday from 3-7 PM at the Funeral Home, with a Prayer Vigil at 7 PM, and Tuesday from 9-10:15 AM at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, S. Kinnickinnic and E. Russell Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.

John was a licensed Funeral Director for over 70 years, who owned and operated Scheuerell & Son Funeral Home in Bay View. He served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific during WWII. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish where he ushered for over 50 years. Past-President of W.F.D.A., M.C.F.D.A., Bay View Businessmen’s Assoc., Bay View Kiwanis Club. Member of Knights of Columbus Cardinal Stritch Council and 4th Degree Bishop Henni Council, American Legion Post 180, V.F.W, and St. Joseph Benevolent Society.
John was instrumental in organizing the Marine Corps Reserve Unit in Milwaukee, and establishing the Mortuary Science program at M.A. T.C.. He served on the Wisconsin Dept. of Regulation and Licensing Examing Board for 6 years.
