Found peace on Friday, August 1, 2008, at the age of 84. Loving husband of Mary Elizabeth nee Durst for over 55 years. Devoted father of Joseph R., Elizabeth Timothy Wilke, Rita Seefeldt, Robert, Mary Patrick Derdzinski, and Teresa “Tracy” Jason Metz. Proud grandfather of Jennifer William Schroeder, Katie, Gregory, and Justin Seefeldt, Caroline Drought, Anna, Aurora, Maria, and Isabel Derdzinski, Calvin and Andrew Metz. Proud great-grandfather of Kiera Torres-Seefeldt. Brother-in-law of Joseph B. Durst, MD and Sr. Luanne Durst, FSPA. Preceded in death by parents Anna and Gebhard Koch, and his sister Joan Durst. Also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation Friday from 3:30 – 7:30 PM at the funeral home with a prayer vigil at 7:30 PM. Visitation also on Saturday from 9 – 9:45 AM at ST. ROMAN’S CHURCH, S. 20th & W. Bolivar Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.

Joe was a licensed funeral director for 58 years, former owner-director of Lohman Funeral Service from 1956 to 1995, and an Associate of Heritage Funeral Homes since 1995. WWII vet and member of VFW Charles Fidler Post #9469 and American Legion Hustisford Memorial Post 420.
