Joseph M. Lorisch

Was taken from us far too soon on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the age of 33.

Beloved son of Jon and Katherine. Cherished brother of Jennifer Ricco (Nickolas), Shelley Bauer (Brendan), and Steven Lorisch (Aleena Dinkelman). Admired uncle of Alex, Nathan, Ethan and Peri. Further survived by many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joseph and his twin brother Steven were born on March 2, 1989 to Jon and Katherine in Cudahy. It became clear quite early on that he would march to the beat of his own drum. After going by Joseph his first five years he announced he would go by Joe, “to keep it simple”, he said. While he always preferred to keep it simple, he had a fervor for adventure and lived life on his own terms. His adventures spanned far and wide over the years and he collected loved ones along the way. Affectionately known as “Jay Low” by many, he will be remembered for his kind, generous, fierce and free spirit, his goofball nature, his love of music and animals (particularly his kitties Oatie and Gracie Bear), swinging in his hammock, kayaking the river, riding his motorcycle on the country roads, skiing down the mountain, or welding something he was so excited to fast talk about. He will be sorely missed by many.

A memorial gathering will take place on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 11am-1pm at Heritage Funeral Home (9200 S 27th St, Oak Creek) followed by a celebration of life at 1pm. A luncheon in honor of Joseph’s life will take place following the service at Pat’s Oak Manor (1804 15th Ave, South Milwaukee) from 2-6pm.

Dear Kathy, Jon and family,. Words cannot even be found to express my sympathy for you and your family. I loved reading about who Joe was and lived his life. It sounds that he embraced his love for nature and people.

If there is anything I can do for you and your family please reach out and I will do whatever I can.

I moved away and hadn’t been in touch with Joe in a few years prior to this. I will never forget all of the shenanigans we got into over the years. He was truly one in a million; one of the few people from high school I stayed in touch with for all of these years (we met in 2002). We would even just randomly text each other over the years “I got five on it” which was out inside joke. I’ll never forget the joy he brought to my life for nearly 20 years. Condolences to everyone else touched by this amazing human.
