Joyce Marie (Reichling) Seidel
September 21, 1930 – July 12, 2022
Of Brookfield. Passed away in the arms of the Lord on July 12, 2022 at the age of 91 years 9 months . Born September 21, 1930 in Darlington, Wisconsin. Preceded in death by her Mother Rila (Carpenter) Reichling, Father Francis Reichling, Husband Arthur R “Art” Seidel, Siblings Francis Reichling, Bernard Reichling, John Gordan Reichling, Mary Carl, Lula Ayers, and Lois Alm. Brother and Sister in laws and nieces and nephews. Loving Christian mother of Steven (Corrine Vollrath) Seidel, Sandra (Brian) Wegner and Wendy (Dan) Gottschalk. Dear grandmother of Rebekah, Rachel, Krista, Ryan, Kayla, Mitchell and Ross. Further survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
Joyce had many hobbies including playing sheepshead, bowling, volunteering, watching Wheel of Fortune, and playing the piano. She loved to sing and listen to music, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Joyce was baptized into the Christian faith shortly after birth at Darlington’s United Methodist Church. She belonged to Gloria Dei Bethesda (Abiding Word) for over 70 years. Joyce graduated from Darlington High School where she played the drums in the school band. After High school she moved to Milwaukee, WI where she attended Milwaukee Technical School. After graduation she worked at Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee, WI. During this time she married Art, started a family, was a homemaker, and drove a school bus for a short time. After her children were older, she was the church secretary at Gloria Dei Bethesda from 1981-2010.
The memorial service will be Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00am at ABIDING WORD (WELS) LUTHERAN CHURCH, 9420 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee. Visitation Saturday at the church from 10:30 am until time of service. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
