Passed away on June 3rd at the age of 76. Loving husband of Lynn L. (nee Bischoff). Supportive dad of Karee (Bruce) Slaminski, Scott (Leigh Ann) Gourley and Debra (William) Ewert. Loving grandpa of Adam (Jessica), Jamee (Tyler), Tony, Morgan, Michael, Jessica and Luke. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kenneth was born in Milwaukee on August 30th 1942. He graduated from Pulaski High School where he met his future wife Lynn. He attended basic submarine training in the Navy the summer before his senior year of high school but chose to change to the army upon graduation when he married. He was stationed at the Nike site in Milwaukee during his time in the army working with the missile system, at times being on high alert during the Cold War and Cuban Crisis. At the same time Ken started a family and had three children Karee, Scott, and Debra. After the army he started his career in Quality Control, attending MSOE part-time and, continued to work full time, eventually working into Management and Quality Engineering.
Ken enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and time with the family. The dream of a cottage in northern Wisconsin was finally realized before the grandchildren were born. Many weekends and summers were shared with the family boating, fishing, and time around the campfire. Throughout the years, Ken was active in church. He enjoyed square dancing, participating in state and national convention, playing sheepshead with his brothers-in-law and watching the Packer games. He was particularly upset and sad at the passing Bart Star. With his diagnosis of MS he had to stop many of his activities but continued to enjoy watching sports and his favorite show, Wheel of Fortune.
With his progressive disability he relied on help from caregivers from Home Helpers of Lake Country and attended Curative Daycare. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother.
A visitation will be held on Friday June 7th AT THE FUNERAL HOME (16880 W. National Ave. New Berlin 53151) from 10am-12pm with a funeral service at 12:30pm. Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park.
