Braden, Leona Rose (Hertel)
Age 83 of Milwaukee, passed away June 30, 2016. Leona was born August 21, 1932.
Loving wife of the late James J. Braden III for 64 years. Survived by children: Dave (Kathy), Patrick Lee, Michael (Theresa), James, and Lynn (Paul) D’Alessio. Grandchildren: Brain (Tasha), Amy (Derek) Kowalczyk, Joshua, Michael (Megan), Tyler, Kristina, and Paul, Brandon, and Gino D’Alessio. Great-Grandchildren: Kael, Ian, Neva, Elijah and Nathan Braden. Brother-in-law Larry (Sharon) Braden and Sister-in-law Lynnette Braden. Further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in death by parents John Jr. and Esther (Neubauer) Hertel, Brother Ted (Shirley) Hertel and Sister Viola Luna.
Leona was a long-time employee of Miller Brewing Company and dedicated member of Oklahoma Avenue Lutheran Church. She was also part of the South Division High School Fabulous 40’s Group.
A special thanks to the wonderful staff, especially the nurses from Wheaton Franciscan Hospital-Franklin who took care of Leona and were so comforting and kind to her family throughout her time there.
Visitation at Heritage Funeral Home (4800 S. 84th St, Greenfield WI) on July 9 from 9:30AM – 11:30AM. Service to follow at 11:30AM and Entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
