Lillian Koszewski
(nee Lily Theresa Faruolo) rose to join Our Lady in heaven on March 16, 2023.
Born on May 15, 1927, she was the dearest mother of Lawrence (Louise), Stephen (Lupita), James (Colleen) St. Patrick, Kathryn (David) Andrea, Barbara (Mark) Czarnecki, Janice (John) Rath, Robert (Andrea). Preceded in death by her parents Michele and Maria (Nigro) Faruolo, her siblings Francesco (Arline) Faruolo, Rose (Louis) Delesia, and Josephine Faruolo, and her former husband Robert Koszewski.
Grandmother of Andrew, Lawrence, Lillian, Stephen, Fredrick, Caela, Ian, Ivan, Dylan, Liza, Michael, Roy, Edward, Haley, Liliana, Christian, Patrick, and Claire. Great grandmother to Kamryn, Milania, Brantley, Evelyn, Finnley, Vivian, Audra, Fredrick, Brooklyn, Dylan, Julian, Daphne, Felix, and Fiona. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A second Mom to Tommy Bronk.
Lillian, born to Italian immigrant parents, was raised in East Harlem. She attended Washington Irving High School and Hunter College in Manhattan. She met her husband dancing to the romantic music of the era. Married in 1948, they moved to his hometown of Milwaukee.
Lillian instilled a strong spiritual foundation as she gave herself to raising her seven children. She was possessed of great vigor, devotion, and spirit. Lillian often walked distances to downtown. She loved and advocated for her children and found hearty joy in her grandchildren. Within the family, and to many others, she was known simply as “Ma”.
Lillian developed an engaging career at age 48, first as a licensed insurance agent, then for the City of Milwaukee Purchasing Department and the Treasurer’s Office. She was an active member of the Bay View neighborhood and volunteered at her Catholic parishes. Lillian was a lifelong learner, enjoyed relaxing in her backyard garden, and felt secure in the support and comfort of her neighbors.
Appreciation to the immensely kind staff and Usambara Sisters at St. Camillus.

She was a second mom to me growing up. She should be in heaven immediately God! She produced a wonderful family that I grew up with. God bless all of you!
Thinking of you all and all the memories that will live on forever. It always amazed me how Aunt Lillian could remain so calm when we would visit. Twelve kids going every which way. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Rest in peace beautiful lady. The Koszewski family opened their home and their heart’s to us. She was the matriarch of this generous clan. They were my family away from home. She loved my children. She was a wonderful cook. She’ll be in my heart forever
She was an angel
I love Lillian
I have fond memories of our family visiting Aunty Lily & Uncle Bob and their family. We were always treated with kindness and served tasty food.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Koszewski was always so nice to everyone. I remember her calmly smiling at all the chaos the kids created. Rest in heavenly peace. She was one of my moms favorites, so I hope they are friends again in the afterlife.
Dear Kathryn, David, and Family,
Our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your mother. She was a beautiful, kind, and caring woman who touched many hearts. Her unconditional love for you and your entire family was special, and losing someone like her is never easy!
Our mere words cannot express the pain you all must be going through. We are sending you love and prayers to give you strength during this most difficult time.
A mother like Lillian is with us always, first in her lifetime, then forever in our memory!
“Death leaves a heartache
No one can heal,
Love leaves a memory
No one can steal.”

We would all gather on the living room floor to watch the new SNL. She would sit in the back and smile. She was a very special woman; calm, forgiving, and kind. But there are.so many positive adjectives that I leave out. It’s too late to tell you directly, but you made a huge difference in so many lives, including ours.
