Linda Lou Martin (nee Rasmussen)

Wauwatosa – Went home to her Lord July 7th, 2023 age 80 years. Survived by her husband of 58 years 8 plus months Thomas Martin, children Sheri Davidson (Timothy), Colleen Todor (David) and Darin Martin, grandchildren Tyler and Trevor Davidson and Chloe Todor. Further survived by sisters Nancy Davis (Michael) and Mary Fiane, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives preceding her in passing: sister Carol Hauck, brother David Rasmussen, brother-in-law David Fiane and grandson Zachary Todor.
As a child, Linda spent many of her early years on an Apache Reservation in Arizona due to her father being a missionary teacher. By the time they left the reservation for a new teaching position in Michigan nine years later, she could speak the Apache language fluently.
Linda spent several years in Michigan before finally moving to Wisconsin where she became an LPN and worked as a labor and delivery nurse at St. Lukes. This is also when she met and married Tom Martin.
Linda was a four time breast cancer survivor and a strong woman of faith. She was an awesome cook and baker and earned the nickname of “food angel”. She loved her flower gardens as evidenced by the numerous beds she had at “The Farm” or Tom and Linda’s Stonetree Acres as the familys’ country getaway was affectionately named.
Linda was someone who was not only generous of spirit, but of her time and her talents. In John 14 Jesus says, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” It is not goodbye, but until we see you again.
Linda’s Christian Victory Service will be held on Thursday, July 13th at ST. JOHN’S WAUWATOSA at 7809 W. Harwood Ave. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm with the service at Noon. Internment at Pinelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to St John’s are sincerely appreciated.

    Dear Tom and Family –
Our sincere sympathy to you Sheri, Collen, Darin and families, We am thankful that we were able to have Linda in our lives. She was a strong woman of love and faith, Linda (and Tom) took care of Madeline like she was her own, and her never ending love and compassion for the children was truly amazing. I will always remember her welcoming smile everyday and her endless energy. She was my role model as I watched her battle her health issues and never gave up the fight, I thought of her and all of you over the years with a smile in my heart and the fondest memories, I will keep Linda and all of you in my prayers.
I am out of town this week and unable to attend. Sending our love an hugs.
