Opell, Marc A.
Found peace on September 20th 2011 at the age of 59. Marc was born September 18, 1952 in New Castle, IN to the late Jack and Faye Opell. Cherished wife, best friend and soul mate to Lisa nee Roberts for 15 years. Survived by his loving sister, Gail Edward Rodzen, his 4 children, granddaughter, niece, nephews, mothers-in-law, father-in-law, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, other relatives and friends plus his musician family.
Marc served in the United States Marines Corps from 1970 to 1974, stationed in Hawaii and fought for our country in the Vietnam War…Semper Fi. He was an outgoing, positive person that never let anything get him down. He was a locksmith by trade but also was in residential and commercial property maintenance. Marc was a seasoned bass player and singer who started playing at a young age only to go on as a studio musician in Nashville, toured with Freddy Fender for 4 years and played for numerous bands all over the US and locally until his illness forced him to retire from his love of music. He was deeply loved and will greatly be missed.
Special thanks to the caring staff at Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Hospital and Seasons Hospice especially Jeannine, Mary and Jazz for all their care and support.
Visitation on Friday from 6-8PM followed by a service at 8PM with full military honors. Heritage Funeral Home located at 9200 S. 27th Street, Oak Creek, Private burial at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
