Marilyn passed away in Milwaukee on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at age 67. Born on January 25, 1955 in Wisconsin and raised in Milwaukee.

Loving mother to her only daughter Yalanda DeShonta Walker. Grandmother to Naomi Shonta Griffin, Michael Shawn Griffin, and Caine Elliott Griffin. Great-aunt to Arezamae. Special friend of Otis Jackson “Scooter”. Preceded in death by her parents Gilbert A. Schwechel and Betty Jane Schwechel (nee Bortell), sister Diane Fischer, brother Gilbert A. Schwechel Jr., former husband John Griffin and soulmate forever Rudolph Boatman. Further survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Marilyn has been a hard worker her whole life. Working jobs such as housekeeping in nursing homes and hospitals, Potawatomi bingo and casino, and most recently retired from food service. Marilyn was a proud grandmother and cherished spending time with her grandkids when they were younger.
