Marilyn Jean Spangler, nee Miller, 85 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 30th, 2017. Preceded in death by Marilyn’s loving husband of 63 years, John Ross Spangler, mother Mabel Miller, father John R. Miller, and son-in-law Steve Dalton. Survived by four daughters, Pamela “Sue” Bauer (Bill), Kathryn Ann Dalton, Mary Beth Castro, and Doris Eileen Riener (Tim). Loving grandmother to Brendan (Shelley) and John Bauer; Emily Dalton Niles (Nick) and Polly Dalton; Nicole (Danny) Lira, Tanya (Miguel) Cruz and Miguel Castro, Jr.; Sara, Tim Jr. (Rachel) and Alex Riener. Great-grandmother to Julian, Jada, Helena, Liliana, Ava, Santiago and Sixto. Dear sister of Patricia Ann Groh and John (Christine) Miller. Sister-in-law of Sylvena Mitri, Fuzz (Lila Mae) Spangler and Rosemary Bodin. Further survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Marilyn was a loving wife, wonderful mother, kind and gentle person, and friend to all. She worked for 23 years as Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools for the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District, a job she truly enjoyed. Mom loved to entertain, cook and bake, piano playing and all music. She enjoyed traveling with Dad, bowling, roller skating, walking, and especially shopping. She was a member of Oak Creek Community United Methodist Church. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation Sunday, July 9th from 2-4PM, at Oak Creek Community United Methodist Church, 8675 South 13th St, Oak Creek. Service to follow at 4PM. Interment at Forest Hill Memorial Park, Oak Creek to take place Monday July 10th at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marilyn’s name are appreciated to the church.

Thank you to Creekside Terrace, Oak Creek, and Allay Hospice, Racine, for all they have done to care for Mom.
