Marjorie A.
Jahncke

Jahncke, Marjorie
Passed away peacefully on June 12, 2011, with her family at her bedside. She was born October 30, 1930 and grew up in the town of St. Nazianz, WI, until moving to Milwaukee at age 18.
While in St. Nazianz, she met her future husband, Charlie, and they married in 1950. She worked as an executive secretary until moving to Oklahoma City with Charlie in 1976. There, she worked for South Western Bell until she retired in 1992. They moved back to Milwaukee to spend retirement close to family and friends.
Marge loved to play cards, bingo, golf and crochet. She learned to oil paint, and do ceramics. Her hands were always busy. She had an adventurous spirit, which didn’t slow down with age; learning to snorkel and cross country ski after she retired. She was a certified tutor for both adults and children who had difficulty reading and she traveled with her children and grandchildren whenever she had the chance.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Charlie, and her parents, Louis and Margaret Madson. She is survived by her children Robert Christie, daughter Mary Kay Hart Tony, grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Hart, Stephen and Kellie Jahncke, sisters Arlene Schleh, and Lou Ann Gill Neumeyer and brother Erv Madson, and many other relatives and friends.
A very special “thank you” to all the caring staff at GoldenLiving, Heritage Square for being a special part of Marge’s life during her last few months. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Layton Terrace where she lived for the last 5 years, and to Seasons’ Hospice for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21st at Heritage Funeral Home, 4800 S. 84th St., Greenfield, starting at 4 pm and ending with a vigil at 7 pm.
Relatives and friends many join Marge’s family for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 60th & Oklahoma, on Wednesday, June 22nd, at 10:30 am. Graveside services will be held in St. Nazianz, WI at 3 pm.
