Mark Straight passed away on October 31st 2021 at age 58. Loving Husband of Paul Nowak, He is preceded in death by the parents of his heart Roger and Joan Nowak.
Mark is survived by Brother Leo (Mary) Nowak, Sister Marie (Pat) Tycz, Sister Brenda (Paul) Lamere , Uncle Cody (Sylvar) Tycz, Dillon (Emily) Tycz, Seth and Chase Nowak, Austin (Ali) and Faith Lamere, Great Uncle Londyn and Egypt Tycz
Mark was a fighter known as tenaciousness, loyal and incredibly giving to those he kept close. Mark credited his time in the United States Army for saving his life and allowing him to follow his dream of becoming an RN in the Operating Room. Mark’s spirit was forged by his 37 year journey with AIDS. He was proudly involved in the first AIDS research studies at Walter Reed National Medical Hospital. He humbly served as President of the Galano Club for many years. Mark’s safe oasis was at home with his husband and their many rescue dogs.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday November 11, 2021 at the FUNERAL HOME from 4-7PM with a time of remembrance at 7PM. Flowers to the funeral home or memorials to Pride United Equity Fund https://www.unitedwaygmwc.org/Pride appreciated.
