Found God’s peace and went into his open arms Jan 4th at the age of 55 years.
Mark fought his cancer like a true Marine. After an 8 plus year battle, 4 surgeries, and 3 invasive cancer studies for the benefit of mankind he lost his battle.
Mark enlisted into the Marine Corp. at the age of 17. He continued his service to his country by becoming a public servant to the City of Milwaukee as a police officer and retired with the rank of Lieutenant. He returned to the work force and began employment at Sanford-Brown College and became Director of Education dedicated to helping students.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Dorothy. He was the Beloved Husband of Diane nee Kitchen, father of Christopher fiancée Nicky and Mathew. Step-father of Melissa Jared Burback, Derreck Krause and most Special Grandfather to his “Mikayla Marie.” Further survived by his mother-in-law Marlene and his belated father-in-law Robert Kitchen, and his only sibling, Mary Beth Rhys Ptricek. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, 84th & Coldspring, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:15 AM.
In leau of flowers monies will be collected and dispersed to Mark’s favorite charities. Many thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda MD. For all their services, especially their loving care and support.
