Martin G. Hudaj Sr., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 22, at the age of 75. He was born in Milwaukee on August 6, 1948, to Victor and Victoria (Mistele) Hudaj. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judith McClellan.
After graduating from Milwaukee Boys’ Tech High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic. Upon returning home from Vietnam, he began his career as a pressman at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel where he worked for over 35 years before his retirement.
Marty married the love of his life, Janice (Dotzler) Hudaj, and they shared 37 beautiful years together.
Marty loved sports, especially baseball, a good piece of bakery, his children and grandchildren. He was “Papa” to nine grandchildren and was present at every milestone in their lives. He leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity and a fierce devotion to his family. A piece of each family member left with him, and he will forever be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Janice and his children: Theresa (Chris) Cook, Nicole (Pat) Collins, Marty Jr. (Diane) Hudaj, Angela (Steve) Johnson. His grandchildren: Sean, Taylor, Morgan, Tristan, Lauren, Vaughn, Martina, Brady and Maddie. His brother Dale (Karen) Hudaj, sister-in-law Judith Ostrowski and brother-in-law Richard Dotzler.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Milwaukee VA Hospital for their compassionate care.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 22nd, at Heritage Funeral Homes (9200 S. 27th St. Oak Creek) from 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm with a service to immediately follow at 5:30 pm.
