Saugstad, Maynard R. Sr.

Reunited with his beloved wife Joyce on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 age 94 years.

Survived by their children Sandy, Steve, Karen, Jim, John, Chuck, Chris, Lee, Kay, Maynard Jr., Jay and Robin; having been  preceded in death by children Penni and Roger.  Further survived and loved by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many dear friends.

Family and friends will gather to share memories and stories from 12 Noon – 4:00 PM at

Maynard was an instructor at West Milwaukee High School, having taught business and accounting for 29 years.

    My condolences to Maynard’s family. A 1963 grad of WeMIHi, I remember him well from sports and overall interactions. I always enjoyed talking with him. I did not have him as a teacher, but I know that he made a difference in the lives of his students. I’m certain he has earned his rest.

    Our heartfelt condolences to Maynard’s family. He was such a wise and outgoing man. We loved his daily presence and appreciated his many stories. We missed him dearly when he moved and wished him well and thanked him for his loyalty and kindness. Our hearts are heavy with the news of his passing and pray for his peace.     Dear Family of Maynard R. Saugstad, Sr.,

    On behalf of the United States Navy Cruiser Sailors Association, please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your family member Maynard R. Saugstad, Sr., SK2/USN.

    Know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers, as well as the Navy Cruiser Sailor’s Association.

    Mr. Saugstad’s name will be presented at our next Reunion Memorial Service with a special bell ringing. The reunion is to be held in Warwick, RI April 21-24, 2020.
