Passed away peacefully Aug. 27, 2012 at the age of 74 yrs. Beloved husband of Linda. Loving father of Kelly Glen Smith. Proud papa of Jamie and Taylor Smith. Dearest brother of Marlene Bartoshevich and Michael Brzenk. Loved deeply by brothers and sisters-in-law Doug and Betty Tetzlaff, Roger and Judy Paddock, Pat Paddock, John and Linda Paddock and Steven and the late Susie Reuschlein. Uncle Mel loved all his nieces and nephews. He loved to have company and especially liked his patio poker games. He loved to fish, golf, slot machines and of course plenty of beer. He will also be missed by other family and friends. Visitation Wed. Aug. 29th, 4:30-8pm with funeral services at 8pm at the funeral home. Private entombment Forest Hill. A special ‘Thank-You’ to Dr. Margery Howard and her caring staff and nurses and the Aurora VNA nurses for their compassion shown to Mel.
