“Hey, MOM, Dad is here! Finally, that darn oatmeal” That was the greeting from Heaven from his son Jack who was there at the gates of Heaven waiting for him with Melvin’s wife June. Loving father of James (Judy) and Mick (Tracy) Welch. Cherished grandfather of Kathy (Casey), Robert (Paula), Christine (James), Jessica (Steve), Michael J. (Andrea), and Lori (Joseph). Great grandfather of Kaylie, Nolan, Calvin, Kipp, Jolene, Nate, Ben, Jackson, Keira, Gavin, Colin, Merek, Liam, Arianna, and Alexander. Brother in law of Bob (Ann) Zarder. Uncle of Lauren, Corrine, Thomas, and David. Special friend of Debbie (Aaron) Ciesielczyk and families. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Mel spent over 90 years of his life in the outdoor with physical labor of 30 years as a letter carrier, 35 years as a Journal Sentinel newspaper “paper boy” 40 years in Pro/Semi-pro baseball player/manager, 45 years as a Cyclists with Tours, Clubs in WI/USA. 50 years as a janitor/fireman at Simpson, Immanuel and Bethany Churches.
Visitation to be held on Saturday, October 9th at the FUNERAL HOME from 10-11am. Interment Arlington Park Cemetery.

Jim. So sorry for you and your family of your father. Uncle Skinny was one of a kind. Grew up tough and made his own way. I still remember our visit to you guys and getting up early to deliver papers. Be safe
