Born March 25, 1913 and Received by his Lord and Savior into the Church Triumphant on Wednesday, August 11, 2004. Born and grew up in Neenah, Wisconsin. After graduating from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1936 with a B.S.E.E., he returned to Neenah. He married Helen nee Weyland in 1937. They were blessed with 3 children; Gretchen John Ficken, Norman Janet and Naomi Richard Dassow. He was preceded in death by Helen in 1975 and his second wife Judith Stolper-Naumann in 1988, and his son Norman in 1999. Grandchildren John Mona Ficken, David Ficken, Paul Nichole Ficken, Paul Margaret Koerwitz, Deborah Koerwitz, Michael Judy Jung, Peter Dassow and Amy Rob Oldenburg. Great-grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Rachel, Timothy, Lily, Abigail, Bridget, Celeste, Tyler and Langdon.
Norman was a dearly loved, God fearing Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa! Over the years he faithfully served in many capacities at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was the street lighting engineer for the City of West Allis for 13 years until his retirement. He enjoyed living at Village at Manor Park. We are thankful for all the care he received.
Visitation will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 7821 W. Lincoln Ave., Sunday, August 15, 2004 from 2 PM until the Funeral Service at 3 PM. Private Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
