 PAUL JOHN GALLAGHER

Age 89, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Brosinger) for 62 years. Dear Father of Gary (Colleen), Gregory (Jimmy), Steve (Sharon) and Kristine.  Proud papa of Cassandra, Lindsay, Claire, Erin, Amanda and Malik. Further survived by brother-in-law Bob Botz (Sandy and the late Arlene), sister-in-law Dorothy Gallagher (the late Al), other relatives and friends.  Predeceased by brothers Neil, Clyde, Tom, Joe and Alfred; sisters Marion, Rosemary, Betty and Helen.

Paul was born and raised in Lodi, Wisconsin, graduating in 1952, and U.W.-Platteville in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years (1956 – 1958) and Air Force Reserve for 3 years (1958-1961).

He was a retired Milwaukee Public school teacher for 34 years at Milwaukee Technical High School (formerly Boy’s Technical High School) where he taught Mathematics and part-time driver’s education; and coached cross country and track for 12 years, growing the team and ultimately  leading them to place 2nd in the state meet.

Paul was passionate about Wisconsin sports teams especially the Wisconsin Badgers and playing the Sheepshead card game.  He was an avid golfer and bowler, participating in Milwaukee area golfing and bowling leagues for decades.

Private family services will be held.  In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
