Phil was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 11, 1951, and was a proud graduate of Milwaukee Lutheran Highschool class of 1969. He proudly served in the U.S Navy from 1970-1973 and received an honorable discharge. Phil proudly served his community as a Lieutenant with the Lyons Township Volunteer Fire and Rescue for about 10 years. Phil worked for the City of Kenosha as a Housing Specialist for 15 years.
Special thanks to the staff at Wisconsin Veteran’s Home at Union Grove and Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or Hales Corners Lutheran Church are appreciated.
I was blessed to have Phil for a friend. He had a special gift.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Phil’s passing. Please accept my sincerest condolences. We met in grade school at Our Redeemer and attended high school together. He and I last touched base in January sharing text messages where he mentioned that he was looking forward to getting together in August for our high-school class reunion. We referred to each other fondly as “TOP”; The Other Phil”. I will remember “TOP” as a fine man who would reach out to others with concern about their well-being.

To. Sister Karen===We send our condolences at this loss of your brother. Family is so precious and each departure leaves a hole in our lives and hearts.
May God’s mercy and grace in this Eastertide bring hope and comfort.
It was my great privilege to get to know Phil at the Veteran’s Home in Union Grove. I looked forward to our sessions, hoping to be a blessing to him–but I think he blessed me even more with his thoughtful wit, clever humor, care and concern for his fellow member vets, and statements of a shared faith. Although all who knew him are grieving, there is great comfort in knowing he is celebrating with the Resurrected Lord in victory. He shared with me his great love for his wife, son, daughter in law and 2 grandsons. RIP, faithful servant, until we meet again.
Of course I knew who Phil Albers was in high school, but unfortunately we weren’t friends. My life was blessed to become friends with Phil when we started to plan our 50th reunion. Once a Christian Minstrel, always a Christian Minstrel!! Phil was a caring, kind friend, always ready to lend an ear. And no matter how difficult his own day was he always had a positive attitude and a passage from the Bible to share. How many times I texted him hoping to brighten his day, and instead he brightened mine.! I will miss his words of faith and encouragement as well as the sunrise pictures he sent me.
May God bless his family, and may you all find comfort knowing what a wonderful friend he was to so many of us.
My wife Connie and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Phil! We met and became friends in a Rehab facility, Coniie enjoyed Phil’s visite with her, and they sought encouragement
thru one another to get better and go home! I enjoyed Phil’s reflections about his Naval service, and he always ribbed me about my Marine Corps 28 yr career. He also reminded me
that Marines never got anywhere without the Navy!
Our sincere condolences to the entire family, and we know Phil is in a better place in the company of joyous and comforting Angels!

I was so very sad to learn of Phil’s passing. I shared his pride in being a 1969 MLHS grad. If you knew Phil, you liked Phil. He was smart, kind, handsome, funny. He was simply a gift to each of us. As heaven rejoices, I send my sincere condolences to Phil’s family. Debbie Werle Klug
When I think of Phil’s passing the words of an Amy Grant song come to mind
Friends are friends forever If the Lord’s the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never ‘Cause the welcome will not end
Though it’s hard to let you go In the Father’s hands we know
That a lifetime’s not too long To live as friends
Phil and I spent years together at Milwaukee Lutheran High School being in the Choir and Christian Minstrels. I even bought Phil’s old car, a Rambler. I was looking forward to seeing him again at our HS 55th reunion.
