WHAT A LIFE!
Ramon Medina Sr. passed away peacefully on April 15, 2022 after 5+ years of battling dementia and 7 months of home hospice care; he was 75 years old. Ramon is survived by his beloved wife, Blanca Medina. Loving father of Blanca (Thomas) Bump, Nora (Tony) Hernandez, and Ramon Jr. (Lela) Medina. Loving grandfather of Tanner and Trever Bump, Anthony (Justine) Hernandez, Ashley (Jarrett) Rivera, Alexander Hernandez, Jocelyn (Joshua) Ramirez, and Nicholas, Joshua and Rheana Medina. He so loved his great-grandchildren: Julius Mateo Hernandez, Isaiah, Garrett and Vanellope Bay Rivera, and Elijah Ray Ramirez. Dear brother of Felicita Medina, Fabian (Herminia) Medina, William (Rosa) Valentine and Nora (Anibal) Cordero. Further survived by nieces, nephews, friends, other family members including brother-in-law Jose (Aida) Rivera and two loving sisters-in-law, Hortensia Galarza and Lydia Flores who never left their sister’s side.
A big “Thank You” to his niece, Linda Galarza, who helped so much and to nephew, Joel Flores, who was helping from the start of dementia to the end. Ramon always said that these two were like a son and daughter.
Ramon was preceded in death by his parents, Gervasio Medina and Angelina Cordero and 3 sisters: Socorro Rody, Maria Medina and Irma Valentin.
The Medina Family would like to thank Horizon Hospice and his nurse, Melinda for a wonderful job during this transition.
Some things I learned from Grandpa – written by Ramon’s first-born grandchild, Anthony Hernandez
+ After a long hard work week treat yourself to breakfast on the weekend even if it’s only George Webb. You deserve it.
+ Always be excited to see loved ones – they’ll remember that feeling. My Grandfather was one of the few people that were always over joyed to see me no matter what.
+ Always sing your favorite songs out loud because there will be a time where you won’t have that privilege.
+ Work hard and provide for your family
+ Be proud of what you have no matter how it compares to others
+ Always keep your sense of humor even in the toughest of times
+ Live a life that allows people to genuinely state you’re were a good man when it’s your time to go.
+ “Life’s a bitch”
+ Tell your loved ones you love them and pick up the phone when you’re thinking of them
+ Conquer your vices before they conquer you
+ Be happy. I rarely ever saw my Grandfather in a bad mood.
+ Be generous. I get my generosity from him.
+ Have fun wherever you go. Wherever Grandpa went everyone knew him. He had a personality that could not easily be forgotten.
+ Be proud of what you do for a living
+ Leaving a lasting family Iegacy is more than passing down your finances.
+ Support other people because one day you may need support.
+ Do good even when nobody is watching.
Papi I will miss you so much. You left behind such an big legacy and I hope I made you proud. I love you so much 😔😔💔💔

My condolences to the Medina family. I spent a part of my life experiencing great times with this family. Blanca and I are good friends. She knows I have much respect for her family. I could rarely go anywhere growing up with overprotective parents. Her home was one I could go spend time at. That was only because her father and my father’s relationship. My dad respected him as a family man and that said a lot about Ramon Medina. So many memories…
My heartfelt condolences to the family. I will always remember Ramon Sr. As a man loved his family, especially his grandchildren and would do anything for them. Rest In Peace. Your family will truly miss you.
So sorry for your loss hugs and prayers 🙏 ❤️
Tio words can not express what you meant to me. Thank you for always being there for me, for taking me fishing even if we never caught a fish! Just going fishing with you was enough cause you always stopped at Mcdonalds. If yku knew i wanted something, like the evel Knievel toy with motor cycle, my first skate board are just a few of the many gifts yiu gave to me. I remember you carrying me on your shoulders after the AWA wrestling . thank you for helping us with our dad when he needed help! Tio thank you for always making me feel loved by you! I will stop now cauae i can go on forever. You are now in the arms the our Merciful God.

When I bought my first house, Padrino showed me how to install the carpets in the bedrooms, always willing to help.
