Dec. 13, 2008 age 79 yrs. Beloved husband of Odelle nee Monte for 56 yrs. Dear father of Mark Dawn Leonard, Jodelle Paul Thomas and Matthew Susan Leonard. Grandfather of Kristine Ryan Deane, Amanda, Emily Thomas, Zachary, Brittany, Nicholas, Olivia, Levi, Victoria, Christopher Anderson, Brandon and the late Joshua. Brother of the late Willard Earl. Brother-in-law of Pastor Lenwood Donna Monte. Uncle of Gary Monte and Debra Monte. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Memorial Services are Sat. Dec. 20th 10:30am at Siebert Chapel, Carthage College, Kenosha, WI. Pastor Leonard received a BA from Carthage College, Carthage, IL, a Bachelor of Divinity from Oberlin Graduate School of Theology/Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, IA, his Graduate study at Chicago Lutheran Seminary in Maywood, IL, and a Doctorate of Ministry at University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. He was ordained at First Congregational Church, Edgemont, SD in 1955. Other pastorates were North Austin Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL and Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford, IL. In 1988, the Rev. Dr. Leonard became the Vice President for Church Relations at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. Upon his retirement, Pastor Leonard started the chaplain’s program for the Greenfield, WI Police Department from which he recently resigned. He was currently the Visitation Pastor for Fox Point Lutheran Church, Fox Point, WI where he organized and led the Widow and Widowers Grief Support Group. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Carthage College, Kenosha, WI; Zion Lutheran Church, Rockford, IL; or Fox Point Lutheran Church, Fox Point, WI.
