Rev. Louis W. Wasmundt
Rev. Louis W. Wasmundt left this world to join his wife and his wonderful friend, his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on August 6, 2012.
Born October 28, 1924 in Melbourne, Florida, his family later moved to Wisconsin. During his life he spent several years in California and returned to Wisconsin in 1970.
He graduated from the Apostolic Bible College in St. Paul, MN and was later ordained a member of the United Pentecostal Church International. He was an outstanding theologian and for several years he taught and oversaw the financial department of the Pentecostal Bible College.
He loved the Lord with all of his heart and his driving force in this life was to relate to others how they too could find this wonderful peace and love he had found. He wanted everyone to know Jesus was a personal friend and anyone could have the gift of God’s friendship. His walk with God was much more than a casual religious experience. He pastored the Apostolic Bible Church in Sheboygan, WI for over 31 years and he loved the Church members as he did his own family. Even after retirement, he never forgot them and he could be heard many times praying for them and their loved ones.
He was a loyal son of the United States and served his country in the Army during World War II as a cook, baker, and member of the Medical Clearing House. He received his honorable discharge on January 28, 1946.
On September 4, 1948 he married Sylvia Rae Frederick; she preceded him in death on September 17, 2011. Louis is survived by their children, Michael Louis Wasmundt and Judith K. (Alex Bruce) Dicker.
He was a wonderful person, tremendous friend, husband, and father. He will be greatly missed but the family celebrates his transfer to a new and better place.
There will be a private burial at Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A public Memorial Service will be held in the future.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Cedar Care Center and Sharon Richardson Community Hospice for their kindness and excellent care.
